Blustery Valentines
We arrived at the lakeside cabin on 14th Feb for a valentines weekend break. We were greeted with a lovely welcome pack of fresh food and picturesque surroundings as far as the eye could see.

Theresa made us feel very welcome throughout and it's a pity that we had to cut the break short due to horrendous weather conditions.

We will definitely be back

Lovely Place
We stayed here in a cold and windy December and found the lodge cosy and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and the surrounding country most attractive. A wonderland for walkers, with a network of rights of way and bridle paths. And cosy local pubs!

Lovely Setting
We really enjoyed our stay for 4 nights at Lakeside Town Farm. We arrived at 6pm on a Sunday, to a warm welcome from Emma, who was looking after everything whilst her parents were away in Spain. Nothing was too much trouble and the welcome pack was very good, with fresh eggs from the hens living just next door to the cabin! Luckily they were not a problem and not too noisy. The dogs and cat were all very friendly. The cabin is lovely and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The gardens were beautiful and we felt secure and private. We would love to go back again and would certainly recommend Lakeside Town Farm to others. Just one small fault. The WIFI didn't work at the cabin, but Emma kindly offered to let me go into their house where the WIFI did work. Perhaps this will be fixed for next time?!

Nothing Can Be Better
We hired a cabin, which is self-catering but with coplimentary first breakfast (which was ok for the next 2 mornings). The cabin is lovely, all facilities work, Theresa and Jim are very hospitable and are skilled and dedicated guides to local attractions. BTW, the number of tourist information and recommendations available on the spot extends even the most careful internet research you might be able do prior to your stay. So just come and you will gain recommendations on what to do/see for minimum 2 weeks. The farm has a beautiful garden, full of birds and flowers. The local pub is 5 minutes away - well, just pub kind of food, but decent and nice people around. Kingston Blount and neighbouring villages are very quiet and a lot of local foopaths are available with detailed maps. Even the weather was great - sun was shining all three days, while most of Europe tormented by rains - I'm not sure if the latter is permanent.

Excellent Stay
We had 2 nights in the cabin in rather a lot of snow. Fantastic cosy warm everything you want for a winter or summer retreat. Surrounded by nature in your oWn hideaway. Theresa is so helpful nothing is too much trouble even lent my wife a pair of boots. Nice welcome pack. Spotless, well furnished and all the equipment you could need.

Peaceful And Relaxing
The self catering lodge was nothing short of perfect. From the day I arrived I realised I had chosen the right place to relax and work on my new business.

I had highlighted prior to my stay that the weak wireless was a concern as I needed to be connected to the Internet. It was a wonderful surprise when i arrived that Theresa had installed a wireless extender in the lodge that worked perfectly.

Sitting by the lake in the morning with a cup of coffee watching the new day dawn was heavenly (and the ducks seemed to enjoy the company).

The neighbours were very friendly even letting me walk over their fields to get some exercise. Their horse didn't seem to mind the intrusion either.

The lodge itself is very clean, well equipped and looks like new (I believe it was built in 1997).

All in all it was a wonderful, relaxing working holiday and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Hi David
Thankyou for your kind review. It is a job to convey the ambience of staying in the cabin with photos but pleased it reached all your expectations. One litte thing it was built 5 years ago not 15, but yes we do keep it looking like new. Hope to see you again

Lovely Place
The Lakeside Town Farm is in a lovely location. It is very quiet, with plenty of space and the gardens are great. There's a lake with ducks, lots of birds including kites and hens too. The working farm is not noisy at all - in fact we couldn't hear anything at all. Thanks again.

We Loved It!!
We loved staying at the Lakeside Town Farm. The cabin is very nice, everything you need is there. It's nice to wake up in the morning hearing the chickens and the ducks. You're close to Oxford and by train you're in no time in London. And if you want to go for a walk or cycletour - short or long - it's possible too.
In short: we loved every minute of staying at the Lakeside Town Farm!!

Stay For 2 Nights August 2012
Having stayed here before i knew what to expect, and this time came to stay with a friend, she was equally as pleased, this B and B is more like a cosy home from home where you may use the lounge and grounds as if it was your own, it is totally peaceful, a beautiful tranquil oasis, relaxing gardens, a lake with ducks, red kites overhead and a wonderful waggy "Nellie" a black lab, but dont worry if you are not a dog lover, she is very well behaved and will only come to you if you call her, Best of all you have access to a fridge so can take your own supply of any drink you may want to relax with.

Friendly And Welcoming
Our second visit; this time we stayed in the King room which we would recommend. It is cosy and comfortable with the separate dressing room making it quite spacious. There is a separate shower on the first floor landing which may be a little inconvenient for some. Lakeside Farm is in a lovely setting, with an exceptional landscaped garden and lake. Jim and Theresa are very welcoming and helpful with hints, knowledge of local attractions and guidance. Be prepared for the delicious breakfast including the home made goodies. Thank you

Absolutely Fabulous
Our stay at the Lakeside Town Farm was absolutely fabulous. We arrived late the first night and the instructions that Theresa had left us made it simple to find the place and get settled. Everyone at the Lakeside Town Farm made us feel welcome and provide suggestions on local sights and activities. Theresa cooked us wonderful breakfasts that helped fuel our days. The cottage we stayed in was perfect. Clean, quiet and just the right size for self catering. The gardens about the house are beautiful and there is plenty of open sapce for a quiet walk. My husband and I would highly recommned a stay at teh Lakeside Town Farm and would stay there again if ever we found ourselves back in the area.
Thank you Theresa for a wonderful stay.

Peaceful, Green Haven
I had a lovely, restful two nights at Lakeside Town Farm during a study trip to Oxford. Hosts Theresa and Jim were warm and welcoming, and the home-cooked breakfasts were delicious. Theresa also had some excellent tips for what to see in Oxford and advice for the Park-and-Ride service into the city, a short trip up the M40. My room was very comfortable and extremely well-stocked with refreshments and toiletries, I felt rather spoiled! I also had a lovely view of the green, flower-filled gardens outside and could hear only the fountain tinkling and the birds singing. The grounds are also lovely to walk around on sunny evenings, with a pretty lake and ducks right opposite the house. I really enjoyed my stay and would have loved another night in such pretty surroundings before returning to the bustle of London! Thanks for a really lovely stay, I'm sure I'll be back on my next trip to Oxford!
